As Christmas and the New Year gets closer, we enter a period where telecommunications carriers ‘pause’ new orders for a predetermined time over the holiday period. This is a way for them to clear any backlogs from the current year.
This year, the annual telco embargo period is December 14 2020 until January 14 2021. During this time, telecommunications carriers will not action any new internet connections like NBN internet orders, fixed line number ports or any new requests relating to network configurations.
What impact will this have on my business?
This will have minimal impact on your business – if you plan ahead. Are you planning to move your fixed line services, relocate offices and/or deploy any new infrastructure during the holiday season?
It is important to get any related orders in as soon as possible – we suggest getting orders in by the end of November for completion by Christmas. However, there still aren’t any guarantees, so the sooner the better!
